コリン作動性介在ニューロンは「敗者効果」に関与していることが判明した。敗者効果とは、競争に敗れたマウスが優位性を低下させ、社会的順位を下げる現象。驚くべきことに、これらの脳細胞は「勝者効果」には関与していなかった。
