Single cell sequencing in lungs (IMAGE)

Researchers used single cell sequencing to determine how different cell types changed their activities in the lungs following infection with TB and SIV, the nonhuman primate equivalent of HIV. One of the most numerous cell types, macrophages, showed a more inflammatory signature following co-infection and treatment.
