To mitigate beam instabilities caused by higher-order modes (HOMs) in high-current storage rings, this design employs an elliptical choke as a natural filter. While the accelerating TM020-mode is efficiently trapped, parasitic modes are coupled out through damping slots and attenuated by ferrite loads. This mechanism significantly reduces longitudinal and transverse HOM impedances, ensuring the beam stability essential for the STCF.
