Viral entry into the nucleus (IMAGE)
Caption
This image shows the HIV-1 capsid as it passes through the cell's nuclear pore complex, in the process known as nuclear entry. Once inside the nucleus, the capsid uncoats, releasing the viral genome and integrase among other enzymes. Integrase can then insert the viral genome inside host human cell's own DNA, infecting the cell.
