Trying to stop a virus in its tracks (IMAGE)
Caption
University of Delaware professor Juan Perilla (right), is co-author of a new paper that reveals a previously unknown structural role for integrase, a key HIV protein, earlier in the virus' life cycle when it matures into an infectious force. The team's goal is to identify new targets for drugs that could stop HIV in its tracks. Perilla is shown here with Juan Sebastian Rey (left), one of many graduate research assistants in his lab.
