Ventral side of the fish Parapriacanthus ransonneti shows glowing blue. The enzymes and chemical molecules used for this bioluminescence cannot be synthesized (biosynthesized) by P. ransonneti fish themselves. Instead, they are ingested from their prey, a species of sea firefly (Cypridina noctiluca).
