Differences in the negative surface charge of EVs correlate with their biological activity

EXOs have less exposed PS and therefore carries a weaker negative charge than PM-EVs. This difference in the level of negative charge between EXOs and PM-EVs results in pronounced differences in biological activity, including target cell specificity.
