AI-designed protein nanocages observed by electron microscopy

The left image shows relatively uniform protein nanocages approximately 70 nm in size; the right shows larger nanocages ranging from 120 to 220 nm. The images demonstrate that adjusting the curvature between protein building blocks alters the size and shape of the cage, and confirm that the designed structures have successfully self-assembled.
