Aerosol test chamber (IMAGE)
Caption
The researchers developed a tubular aerosol test chamber, as seen on the top left. The top right image shows the 10-meter interrogation leg of the chamber, and the lower left image is the view down the 10-m length aerosol chamber, as seen from the sensor. The lower center image shows the end of the aerosol generation tube, with a gray cedar siding surface in front and a nearly Lambertian surface known as Infragold behind (used for testing and troubleshooting). On the lower right is an infrared image corresponding to the laser beam profile recorded on a 20 x 20 cm brown-painted cardboard panel placed at a standoff distance of 11 m.
