Die Platinfolie wurde auf 727 °C, also rund 1.000 Kelvin, erhitzt, dann wurden im Abstand von 0,4 Nanosekunden Momentaufnahmen gemacht. Diese zeigen, dass sich innerhalb von weniger als einer Nanosekunde eine d = 6 Nanometer dicke Dampfschicht bildet.
