The National Center for Microscopy and Imaging Research (NCMIR) at UC San Diego School of Medicine is an international resource for microscopy expertise. A recent $19 million award from the National Science Foundation will fund a new partnership between NCMIR, University of Vermont, and the San Diego Supercomputer Center to create a national biological observatory.
