Crowding increases enzyme activity (IMAGE)
Caption
Crowding boosts enzyme activity. Simulations show the enzyme lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), surrounded by BSA proteins, can adopt an open or closed shape. In crowded conditions, the closed shape is favored, which allows the enzyme to carry out its reaction more easily, increasing its activity.
