Amount of time spent under tree shade (IMAGE)
Caption
Percentage of time that eight people experiencing unsheltered homelessness spent under tree cover. Spending just 10 to 15 minutes under tree shade was associated with a significantly lower heat index. The fact that some shade use fell below 10 minutes suggests that barriers to continuous shade may limit its protective effects.
