GPM Image of Harold (IMAGE) NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Caption On April 6, 2020, the GPM satellite provided an estimate of rainfall rates in powerful Tropical Cyclone Harold over Vanuatu in the Southern Pacific Ocean. The highest rates were in the rain band to the southeast of the eye, at 48 mm (1.8 inches) per hour. Near the eye, rates in some areas also exceeded 40 mm (1.6 inches) per hr.
