When Did Governments Implement Their Measures against the Spread of Coronavirus Infections? (IMAGE)

The heatmap shows the country-based timelines of interventions against the COVID-19 pandemic. Using the epidemic age instead of calendar days allows to compare the differences in governmental approaches. The day of reference, called "time zero," is the day when the number of reported cases in the specific country equals (or is higher than) 10. The color scheme follows the traffic light logic: The "greener" a square, the earlier the measure was taken. Later measures are colored yellow, orange or red.
