This simulated 3D flyby around intensifying Hurricane Lane on Aug. 17 was derived from GPM's radar data (DPR Ku Band). It shows the location of storm within the forming eye wall and towering convective storms are also revealed by DPR in the feeder band on the southern side of the tropical cyclone. Multiple 3D vertical slices show the intensity of rainfall at different locations within Lane.
