The rocks in La Campana National Park (Chile) are one of the few sites where the rare alga Chlorokybus has been isolated and collected. The green areas on the rocks show where algal biofilms have grown. This bio-film is not only pure Chlorokybus but a mixture of different algae and microorganisms.
