Dr. Corneile Minnaar, a pollination biologist in the Department of Botany and Zoology at Stellenbosch University, developed a technique which uses quantum dots to track individual pollen grains, thereby breaking new ground in a field of research that has been hampered by lack of a universal method to track pollen for over a century.
