Anemonefish display aggression towards other fish vertical bar patterns

Anemonefish display more aggressive behavior towards fish with vertical bar patterns as compared to towards fish with horizontal stripe patterns. This behavior influences the partition of fish species between host anemones and scleractinian corals in reef ecosystems.
