AUSTIN, Texas -- McCombs’ faculty research rose four spots to No. 7 worldwide in the Financial Times’ Executive MBA Rankings for 2024, the business school’s highest ranking in the category since 2002.

The top three spots for research, respectively, went to the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Chicago, and Columbia/London Business School.

Among U.S. public schools, the Texas McCombs Executive MBA ranked No. 1. Only 22% of the 100 schools ranked are located completely in the United States.

The research rank is the third weightiest component (10%) of the 17 used in the EMBA ranking, behind percentage of salary increase (16%) and salary three years postgraduation (15%). The Texas Executive MBA Program ranked No. 8 among U.S.-based programs in the overall ranking.

The research rank is calculated by tallying the number of articles published by full-time faculty members in 50 academic and practitioner journals from January 2022 to May 2024. The rank combines the absolute number of publications with the number weighted relative to faculty size. McCombs faculty members authored or co-authored 200 publications during that period.
