Esther Yuh, MD, PhD, Editor-in-Chief of AI Neuroscience, from the University of California at San Francisco, and coauthors, used citation patterns to construct networks of peer-reviewed research papers and review articles that included elements of both AI and neuroscience.
The investigators identified several trends in publications at the nexus of AI and neuroscience in the past decade, including a more than 5-fold increase in AI-related publications in neuroscience. In clinical neurology, AI-related publications surged more than 13-fold in the past decade. “As AI tools become more widely available, we expect this trend to accelerate in coming years,” stated the investigators.
