Coogle receives funding for school based preschool technical assistance sessions

Grant and Award Announcement

George Mason University

Christan Coogle, Associate Professor of Special Education and Early Childhood Special Education, College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), received $12,000 from the Virginia Department of Education for “School Based Preschool Technical Assistance Sessions.” Funding began in Feb. 2025 and will end in late June 2025.

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) hosts a Quality for All event for early childhood educators serving young children with disabilities within school-based, community, and head start settings to come together to learn more regarding VDOE initiatives and provide information and resources to support practice. This year, three events took place in Fredericksburg, Williamsburg, and Roanoke with more than 150 attendees across the Commonwealth. The feedback was favorable from attendees, indicating they valued the resources and opportunities to connect with colleagues and VDOE administrators. These funds supported the events.
