ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery, and ALP, the Association for Logic Programming, are pleased to announce that they have entered into a long-term publishing agreement for the official ALP journal, Theory and Practice of Logic Programming (TPLP). Effective January 1, 2027, TPLP will be published by ACM, with the complete archive of TPLP published papers dating back to 2001 openly accessible via the ACM Digital Library.
Currently published by Cambridge University Press, TPLP is an international venue for refereed papers covering both the theory and the practice of logic programming. Among the topics covered by TPLP are: AI applications that use logic programming, natural language processing, knowledge representation, non-monotonic reasoning, databases, implementations and architectures, and constraint logic programming. The field of logic programming has gained enhanced interest in recent years due to its fundamental role in many areas of artificial intelligence.
“Choosing a new publishing partner for Theory and Practice of Logic Programming was a highly consequential decision for us,” said ALP President Enrico Pontelli. “This is our flagship journal, and it’s considered indispensable by our 1,500 member-strong research community. Being accessible via the ACM Digital Library will give our work the kind of global exposure and engagement that can launch this long-established discipline into a new era.”
