image: Among 1,133 survey respondents in Japan, people with hierarchical worldviews were least supportive of climate change measures (dark red arrow). This negative association became weaker for climate change-related biodiversity conservation measures (pale red) and was no longer clear for stand-alone biodiversity conservation measures (grey). By contrast, people who placed greater weight on relational values of nature – their personal and cultural attachment to the natural world – were consistently more supportive across all three policy categories (green).
