Using data from the 2016 Indian Demographic and Health Survey, researchers examined how child anthropometric failure--a marker of undernutrition--varied across 597,121 villages in rural India; villages with high levels of undernutrition were often juxtaposed with villages exhibiting low levels of undernutrition within the same district, suggesting a need for geographic precision in targeting policies for reducing undernutrition, according to the authors.
