Business Announcement

Cactus Communications Pvt. Ltd.

Paperpal, offering an AI-powered assistant for language and technical compliance checks, has announced a partnership with Emerald Publishing to pilot its Preflight product with 50 journals. Through this partnership, Preflight will deliver a superior submission experience for authors and help reduce editorial workloads.

Commenting on the partnership, Mads Rydahl, VP Products - Paperpal, said, “Paperpal Preflight is the future for the academia industry. With its full range of language and technical checks completed in less than two minutes, it is bound to ease researchers’ lives by enabling a smoother publishing journey. The journal editors also stand to save a huge amount of time with the improved quality of submissions that adhere to the guidelines of the respective journals.”

Sally Wilson, Director of Publishing - Emerald Publishing, while commenting on the partnership said, “We’re delighted to partner with Paperpal to offer our authors support on their journey to publication. Through a simple user journey, we’re able to help authors improve their manuscript and remedy errors before it is sent for review, ensuring their paper is submission ready.”

With Emerald’s publishing efforts to keep authors at the centre of all that they do, this is the first of several steps to offer synchronous and affordable author support at the point of submission. Now, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increased need for researchers and authors to have quick and easy online access to information. With this partnership, it will allow publishers like Emerald Publishing to immediately start using the solution, without any integration dependency, and offer the tool to submitting authors.
