N極とS極の磁石を交互に並べ、その上に浮くスラブ。システムは振動から隔離され、高真空環境に保たれている。鏡を使ってスラブの垂直方向の動き（位置と速度）をモニタリングし、フィードバック・ループを使ってスラブの動きを減少させる。
