MaAsLin2 analysis was performed on RNA and miRNA transcripts per million (TPM) normalised counts to identify differential expression in polyps as compared with controls (adjacent normal mucosa). Age and sex were controlled for as fixed effects, and the pairing of samples as a random effect. Log2FC, corresponding to the MaAsLin2 coefficient, was plotted on the x-axis. Differential expression with q<0.05 and |log2FC|>1 was considered significant. FC, fold change; MaAsLin2, microbiome multivariate association with linear models; miRNA, microRNA.
