Adaptive Crystal Selectively Recognizes Benzene (IMAGE)
Caption
The interlayer adaptive crystal preferentially incorporates benzene from mixtures with hexafluorobenzene and other competing molecules, including cyclohexene and cyclohexane. Electrostatic interactions between the fluorinated crystal surfaces and guest molecules drive selective recognition and reversible guest incorporation.
