Consumption-based carbon footprints in nine major world regions (IMAGE)
Caption
Consumption-based carbon footprints for each expenditure decile in nine major world regions. The consumption-based carbon footprint accounts for all the direct and indirect CO2 emissions associated with a person's consumption over a year. Each bubble represents the carbon footprint of 10% of the population (from the poorest 10% to the richest 10%). The colour of the bubble indicates how much a person in this decile spends per year, the size of the bubble shows the amount of people in each decile.
