Effects of nanofertilizers on the mechanism of photosynthetic efficiency in plants.

FAR Publishing Limited

In recent years, nano-fertilizers have gained significant attention as a transformative alternative to conventional fertilizers. Nano-fertilizers enable controlled or slow nutrient release, reducing application quantities while improving nutrient use efficiency, economic viability, and environmental sustainability as compare to conventional fertilizer.

Through an extensive review of current research, we found that nano-fertilizers enhance plant biomass, accelerate photosynthetic electron transfer, increase leaf chlorophyll content, and boost the activity of photosynthetic enzymes. These properties demonstrate their ability to significantly improve photosynthesis, offering a viable pathway to higher crop yields and a promising tool for sustainable agriculture.

However, critical challenges remain, particularly concerning nanoparticle toxicity, environmental residues, and potential risks to human health from large-scale nano-fertilizer release. Before widespread adoption, further research is essential including optimizing nano-fertilizer concentrations for different plant species and assessing long-term ecological impacts.
