Understanding emerges: MBL scientists visualize the creation of condensates

This week in Science, Michael K. Rosen and 10 other members of a large collaboration at the Marine Biological Laboratory, the Chromatin Consortium, propose a long-awaited model for how the properties of a condensate can emerge from the properties of the individual molecules that compose it.
The team found that patients who lived in disadvantaged neighborhoods had elevated levels of proteins, metabolites and genes associated with inflammation and tumorigenesis — the process whereby normal cells transform into cancer cells and form tumors — compared with the women from more affluent areas.
