A research paper by scientists at University of Rome Tor Vergata introduced a novel deep learning framework based on a graph deviation network (GDN) to analyze spiking activity from human forebrain organoids (hFOs) and predict network-level alterations associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) risk..
The research paper, published on Nov. 6, 2025 in the journal Cyborg and Bionic Systems.Space manipulators play an important role in the on-orbit services and planetary surface operation whose reliability is a key issue. In the extreme environment of space, space manipulators are susceptible to a variety of unknown disturbances. Since it is difficult for the manipulator to be repaired immediately, once it fails, it will mean that it cannot complete the mission as expected, which may cause serious losses and dangers. How to have a resilient guarantee, i.e., the manipulator’s ability to resiliently recover and continue to complete tasks, in failure or disturbance is the core capability of its future development. The motion planning unit is used as the computing terminal of the manipulator’s joint motion trajectory. Compared with traditional motion planning, learning-based motion planning has gradually become a hot spot in current research. However, no matter what kind of research ideas, the single robotic manipulator is studied as an independent agent, making it unable to provide sufficient flexibility under conditions such as external force disturbance, observation noise, and mechanical failure.
Developing multifunctional electromagnetic wave absorbing materials capable of operating in complex environments has become crucial for electromagnetic protection. Introducing dielectric ceramic materials with high thermal stability and oxidation resistance into carbon matrices has emerged as an effective strategy to address the high-temperature failure of carbon-based absorbers. In this study, a novel hollow SiC/C nanofiber aerogel was successfully constructed via a hydrothermal-carbothermal reduction method. The material exhibits an ultralight nature, good elasticity, fatigue resistance, high-temperature stability, and excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance.
Boon is the project development manager at Bangkok Genomics Innovation (BKGI), a joint venture between BGI Genomics and local partners in Thailand. His role is at the intersection of global science and local healthcare.
BKGI itself is a good example of the Belt and Road Initiative, a bridge of technology and knowledge flowing between China and Thailand. For Boon, that bridge is the reason ideas once out of reach in Thai hospitals are now being shaped into real projects.
Promoting sustainable development in both urban and rural areas has become a globally shared concern. Urban–rural interactions can contribute to wealth creation, poverty alleviation, employment growth, and improved social equity. It has been widely recognized as a key strategy for addressing sustainability challenges, although it may also bring some negative impacts, such as labor outmigration and imbalanced capital allocation. However, the impacts of urban–rural interactions on rural development and how these impacts contribute to sustainable rural transformation require further in-depth investigation.
In light of these pressing global ecological challenges, there is a compelling need to develop ecological theories and applied technologies for understanding, managing, and conserving macroecological systems at regional to global scales. Such efforts are essential to safeguarding natural resource environments, maintaining ecosystem stability, and ensuring the sustainability of human societies.
In recent decades, the infusion of statistics and dynamic equations into geography has shifted the discipline from a descriptive endeavor to a modern science that builds predictive models through hypothesis testing. This progress, however, prompted doubts about the representativeness of sampling, the validity of discarded outliers, and the uniqueness of assumed distributions, parameters, and equations.
