A remote robot-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy across 1200 km was successfully completed by using the Edge Multi-Port Endoscopic Surgical Robot MP1000 (Edge MP1000) and 5G communication technology.
Basalt samples returned by the Chang’e-6 mission have revealed volcanic events on the lunar farside at 2.8 billion years ago (Ga) and 4.2 Ga, according to research conducted by Prof. LI Qiuli’s lab at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This work was recently published in Nature.
In a paper published in SCIENCE CHINA Chemistry, Mn-doped-Cu catalyst was synthesized and employed for electrochemical NO3--to-NH3 conversion. the Mn dopant enhanced the kinetic rate of NO2--to-NH3 and induced a distinct configuration of *NO. This alteration decreased the energy barrier of *NO-to-*NOH, consequently promoting the conversion of NO3--to-NH3.
In a paper published in Science China Life Sciences, a research team from Shenzhen university presented a systematic summarization on Se metabolism, selenoproteins function and their roles in brain diseases. This review focuses on how Se is utilized and transported to the brain, how selenoproteins are biosynthesized and function physiologically in the brain, and how selenoproteins are involved in neurodegenerative diseases. At the end of this paper, the perspectives and problems are outlined regarding Se and selenoproteins in the regulation of encephalopathy.
A research team that focuses on the field of flexible pressure sensing has demonstrated a non-hygroscopic and ultratough ionogel. Based on this ionogel, they have developed iontronic pressure sensor arrays with humidity-insensitivity and broad linear response range. These sensor arrays have been applied for real-time intra-articular pressure monitoring in animal models, showcasing its potential for implanted pressure sensing in humid and high-pressure environments.
In a breakthrough study published in Science on Nov. 15, international researchers have identified mechanisms driving age-dependent morphological changes occurring in the root apical meristem during phase change.
This review introduces the innovative application of radio frequency (RF) treatment in fluid and semifluid foods, and it is divided into the following sections: DPs of fluid and semifluid foods, applications of RF treatment in fluid and semifluid food processing, RF heating uniformity, and current equipment used for fluid and semifluid food processing.
This work successfully prepared an oxygen-doped porous g-C3N4 photocatalyst modified with atomically dispersed Fe (Fe1/OPCN) with significant superiority in removing refractory sulfonic azo contaminants. The modified Fe acted as the electron acceptors, triggered the self-Fenton reaction, and accelerated the mass transfer. The advanced catalyst-contaminant interaction produced abundant multiple active species for mineralizing sulfonic azo contaminants into small molecules.
