Transparency and reporting characteristics of randomized controlled trials with Chinese herbal medicine formulas interventions
Higher Education PressIn 2017, the CONSORT-CHM Formulas 2017 extension was introduced to enhance the reporting transparency of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) formulas. This development aimed to detail the rationale, design, analysis, and interpretation of CHM formula interventions, thereby improving clinical trial execution and advancing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). However, a review assessing the reporting quality of RCTs with CHM formulas has been lacking. This study aimed to evaluate the reporting characteristics and adherence to the CONSORT-CHM Formulas 2017 checklist over the past five years.

Revolution of controllability test theory: from modelic control to datatic control
Tsinghua University PressPeer-Reviewed Publication
Researchers at Tsinghua University introduced a new concept called ϵ-controllability and its testing method for datatic control (i.e., data-driven control) systems, overcoming the challenge of controllability test for datatic systems caused by spatial discontinuity of their system description.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic UniversityChinese Medical Journal study reveals that surgical removal of prostate cancer is possible without biopsy
Chinese Medical Journals Publishing House Co., Ltd.Peer-Reviewed Publication
The predominant treatment for prostate cancer, a prevalent malignancy in men, is the surgical removal of the prostate (radical prostatectomy) for which biopsy is a prerequisite. However, the high costs and associated complications of biopsy impose financial and health burdens on patients. A new study developed a diagnostic strategy for patients with prostate cancer to undergo radical prostatectomy without the need for biopsy, potentially decreasing hospital stay duration and reduced expenditure for patients.

Scientists observe multiple mobility edges in engineered photonic lattices, unveiling mysteries of localization physics
Science China PressPeer-Reviewed Publication
In the quantum world, particles behave in bizarre and fascinating ways, often defying our everyday understanding of reality. One such phenomenon is localization, where particles become "trapped" in a disordered environment, unable to move freely. This concept, predicted by Nobel laureate Philip W. Anderson in 1958, has intrigued scientists for decades, particularly when it comes to understanding how particles transition between localized and extended states. At the heart of this mystery is the concept of the mobility edge (ME), a critical energy threshold that separates localized from extended states. Now, new research has made significant strides in experimentally probing multiple MEs in a cutting-edge integrated photonic system.

Cl- ions accelerating interface charge transfer in a Si/In2S3 faradaic junction photocathode for solar seawater splitting
Science China PressIn a paper published in SCIENCE CHINA Chemistry, Wenjun Luo, Zhigang Zou et al., found and proved the enhancement of a Si/In2S3 heterojunction photocurrent by Cl- ions in the electrolyte comes from faster charge transfer rate at the In2S3/electrolyte interface.
