The 3rd International Conference on Biochar Research & Application + 2026 IBI Biochar World Congress (#ICBRA_BWC 2026) is coming to Zhengzhou, China, from Aug 7–10, 2026.

On 24 October 2025 at SBSTTA-27 in Panama City, CO-OP4CBD together with Biodiversa+ co-hosted a side event highlighting the vital role of knowledge holders in strengthening the science–policy interface for the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The session showcased capacity-building initiatives and presented a preview of a jointly developed UN CBD Guide.

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings co-hosted "The Nobel Heroes Forum: Shaping Science and Future" today (12 January 2026), convening six Nobel laureates for thought-provoking discussions on how fundamental research drives progress in science, technology, health, and the global economy. Held at the Grand Hall of the Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre on the Centennial Campus, the forum drew an audience of over 800 participants, fostering interdisciplinary exchange among some of the world’s most distinguished scientific minds.

“End-of-life experiences” is the theme of the 2026 edition of the “Behind and Beyond the Brain” Symposium, promoted by the Bial Foundation, which will take place from April 8 to 11 at Casa do Médico, in Porto, Portugal, and for which registrations are now open. The symposium aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue between different approaches — scientific, philosophical, and cultural — to explore what is scientifically known about the biological processes that occur when life ends, how different cultures interpret death, and whether the experience of death can alter our understanding of reality.
