The 2025 Hong Kong Climate Forum, co-organized by the Institute for Climate and Carbon Neutrality (ICCN) at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), convened global leaders, scholars, and industry experts today for its second day, focusing on exploring groundbreaking applications of artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate the transition to a carbon-neutral future.

The 2025 Hong Kong Climate Forum, co-organised by the Institute for Climate and Carbon Neutrality (ICCN) at the University of Hong Kong and the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), officially opened this morning. The two-day event brings together government representatives, experts, scholars, and industry leaders from around the world to discuss the challenges posed by climate change and explore mitigation measures. Participants will also exchange how Hong Kong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) can leverage green technology, green finance, and policy support to unlock vast opportunities through innovative practices.

The event, held by FAPESP and the German Research Foundation (DFG) from March 25th to 26th at the Free University of Berlin, aims to strengthen ties between researchers from the state of São Paulo and the European country in order to promote research partnerships.

School will tackle challenges to monitoring and regulation of these substances that pose sanitary and environmental threats through the use of pesticides, legal and illict drugs, micro(nano)plastics, etc. Applicants may submit until April 20.

Scientists from around the world specializing in motor control and neuroscience will travel to the University of Rhode Island this summer as the university hosts the international XV Progress in Motor Control Conference.

The university’s Department of Physical Therapy, its George & Anne Ryan Institute for Neuroscience, and the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program at URI, will host the biennial meeting of the International Society of Motor Control (ISMC) June 30 to July 2. This year’s conference will be held in the Center for Biotechnology and Life Sciences on the Kingston Campus, after previous meetings took place in Rome, Auckland, Amsterdam, Miami, and Budapest.

The state of São Paulo has three major partners in scientific collaboration here in Europe, which are Germany, the United Kingdom and France.
