The University of Texas at Arlington hosted 530 of the brightest minds from North Texas’ middle and high schools last month for the 74th Fort Worth Regional Science and Engineering Fair. The fair attracted more students than ever, with the number of participants increasing by more than 25% over 2024. Engineering remains a high-demand field, especially in Texas, where the economy and the population continue to grow.
Chiba University proudly presents the International Workshop on Space Agriculture and Horticulture 2025, a groundbreaking event set to take place from March 9–11, 2025, at Matsudo Campus, Japan.
Bringing together leading researchers, industry pioneers, and space agencies—including NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the German Aerospace Center (DLR)—this landmark workshop will explore the frontiers of space agriculture and horticulture.

Researchers have developed a high-speed electro-optic switch that is energy-efficient, has low crosstalk and works across a broad bandwidth. Made using a scalable, chip-friendly process, this switch could enhance data capacity in optical networks and data centers by improving signal routing and switching.
