AI-powered temporal model improves blood clot risk prediction in cervical cancer
Compuscript LtdVenous thromboembolism (VTE), including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, is a life-threatening complication in patients with cervical cancer that can significantly worsen survival and treatment outcomes. Although several clinical risk assessment tools are available, they primarily rely on laboratory measurements obtained at a single time point, limiting their ability to capture the evolving biological processes that precede thrombosis. While deep learning models have demonstrated strong predictive performance, their limited interpretability and high computational demands remain barriers to routine clinical implementation.

The know-how kids
Weizmann Institute of ScienceA study from the Weizmann Institute of Science shows that children as young as 2nd grade can offer surprisingly sophisticated scientific explanations for biological phenomena, so long as the question taps into the kind of reasoning that science is built on: Not why, but how.

How interconnected risks become cascading threats to modern society
KeAi Communications Co., Ltd.A new review brings together research on geopolitical tensions, meteorological disasters, regional environmental degradation, supply chain disruption, systemic financial instability, and technology-mediated societal and institutional risks. It shows how shocks can spread through interconnected political, economic, ecological, technological, and social systems, and outlines a flexible cycle of risk identification, assessment, management, and adaptive monitoring supported by international cooperation.
