An Aston University researcher has conducted the first experimental demonstration of intricate and previously theorised behaviours in the fundamental patterns that govern oscillatory systems in nature and technology.
Understanding and controlling how bacteria move through obstacle-filled environments has long been a challenge. A new model developed by a scientist at the Flatiron Institute can predict how bacteria will diffuse in crowded spaces, opening the door for strategies to control their spread.
MIT researchers developed a scalable interconnect that facilitates all-to-all communication among many quantum processor modules by enabling each to send and receive quantum information on demand in a user-specified direction. They used the interconnect to demonstrate remote entanglement, a type of correlation that is key to creating a powerful, distributed network of quantum processors.
The University of Cincinnati’s Jed Hartings and colleagues recently published research in the journal Scientific Reports detailing how automation and machine learning can aid clinicians treating patients with spreading depolarizations, sometimes referred to as “brain tsunamis.”
