Danish researchers, in collaboration with the Danish Football Association, have released a White Paper that describes football as an effective recipe in the prevention and treatment of lifestyle-related diseases.
Using a mathematical model, researchers have shed new light on the transition from hunter-gatherer to farming societies. Rather than focusing exclusively on external factors, they looked at internal demographics and the significant impact of human interactions. The model identified potential societal outcomes based on demographic changes, emphasising aspects such as migration rates, cultural assimilation and the role of mortality in these transitions. The researchers aim to further develop their model with the aim of making it a standard tool for studying historical demographic interactions.
Social-emotional ability serves as a critical human foundation for sustainable societal development. While researchers have focused on enhancing primary and secondary school students' social-emotional skills, the development of university students' social-emotional ability has been overlooked. This study examines the current state of college students' social-emotional abilities. It identifies that these skills are significantly influenced by various factors, including education level, gender, university type, geographic origin, family background, and teacher–student relationships, which are found to significantly affect college students' social-emotional ability.
When choosing an embryo for implantation during in vitro fertilization (IVF), would you consider its chances of developing a health condition? What about traits like creativity, intelligence, or physical fitness? Tinker Tots is an interactive research project designed to explore how people make these difficult choices. By taking part, you help researchers understand how different genetic possibilities influence decision-making—while also gaining insight into your own and other people’s values.
New study explores how primary care teams can encourage regular follow-up visits for patients with chronic conditions. By comparing clinics that achieve more- and less-regular follow up visit patterns for such patients, the research highlights the importance of teamwork, flat relational dynamics, and proactive systems such as patient outreach and social worker involvement in achieving more regular care patterns for patients with chronic conditions. The findings suggest that fostering collaboration and adaptability among staff can significantly improve patient engagement and long-term health outcomes.
World-first research from the University of South Australia shows that autistic students are still struggling at school, despite efforts to improve services and supports.
