Journals in Taylor & Francis collective funding pilot reach target for full open access publishing

Taylor & Francis has confirmed both journals in its innovative pilot, Collective Pathway to Open Publishing (CPOP), will be converted to open access (OA) for 2025.

Announced in November 2024, CPOP has been devised as an alternative OA model for Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) journals, particularly those focused on regions with a high uptake of OA agreements.

Identifying a novel factor in Canavan disease pathogenesis

To manage teams, a bit of negative accentuates the positive

Researchers from Texas McCombs School of Business found that positive emotions from coaches or consulting team leaders during the beginning phase of a project improved team members’ individual performance. But performance improved even further when leaders occasionally leaned into negative expressions during the project's middle phase.

UTA faculty earn top honors for research excellence

Ping Liu, professor of physics, received the University Award for Distinguished Record of Research or Creative Activity. Kyrah Brown, associate professor of kinesiology, and Ben Jones, associate professor of physics, received the University Award for Outstanding Research or Creative Accomplishment.

State and sociodemographic trends in US cigarette smoking with future projections

About The Study: The findings of these repeated cross-sectional surveys suggest that the difference in cigarette smoking prevalence between historically high vs low prevalence states will shrink by 2035, primarily from much faster declines among young adults in the traditionally highest prevalence states. Slower prevalence declines among older adults are likely to slow the decline in health consequences in these states.
