Reviving dormant immunity: Millimeter waves reprogram the immunosuppressive microenvironment to potentiate immunotherapy without obvious side effects
Beijing Institute of Technology Press Co., LtdPeer-Reviewed Publication
A research paper by scientists from Beijing Institute of Technology investigated the anti-tumor effect of millimeter waves (MMWs) alone and in combination with the anti-programmed cell death-ligand 1 (α-PD-L1) antibody in a 4T1 “cold tumor” model.
The new research paper, published on Dec 10 2025 in the journal Cyborg and Bionic Systems, investigated the anti-tumor effects of mono-MMW therapy (35 GHz, 10 mW/cm2, close-contact irradiation), both alone and in combination with the immune checkpoint inhibitor α-PD-L1 in 4T1 and CT26 “cold tumors”.Machine learning drives drug repurposing for neuroblastoma

Safety decision-making for autonomous vehicles integrating passenger physiological states by fNIRS
Beijing Institute of Technology Press Co., LtdPeer-Reviewed Publication
A research paper by scientists at Tsinghua University presented an intelligent safety decision-making algorithm with passenger’risk assessment by analyzing passenger physiological states online using fNIRS.
The research paper, published on May 13, 2025 in the journal Cyborg and Bionic Systems, proposes a new framework aimed at dynamically adjusting vehicle behavior based on physiological signals such as passengers’emotional states and attention concentration, optimizing the vehicle’s response in complex traffic environments.Blue energy advances unlock sustainable power from water
Tsinghua University PressBlue energy—renewable power derived from the kinetic and potential forces of water—has become a key pathway for building sustainable and low-carbon energy systems. This review synthesizes global progress in hydropower, ocean energy, and hybrid offshore technologies, highlighting rapidly advancing wave-energy devices and triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) for blue energy. While hydropower is technologically mature, ocean-based energy systems are expanding due to vast resource potential and accelerating technological innovation. The review identifies promising designs for efficient wave-energy harvesting alongside remaining engineering challenges related to durability, cost, and large-scale deployment. Together, these insights provide a roadmap for advancing water-derived renewable energy to support global decarbonization.
