Bipolar disorder requires long-term treatment to prevent relapse and hospitalization, yet real-world evidence comparing treatment strategies remains limited. Now, a large nationwide study from Japan systematically evaluates the effectiveness of mono- and combination therapies using health data from 315,046 patients. The findings suggest that certain combination treatments may further reduce hospitalization risk, offering valuable insights for optimizing treatment strategies and informing future clinical guidelines.
