A recent study shows that assistance dogs do not only help people with practical tasks, but actively contribute to their care, based on mutual trust and continuous interpretation of each other.

By comparing ancient burial practices with genetic information gleaned from the remains, researchers show that it’s not uncommon for people who aren’t related by blood to be treated as members of the same family—which means that ancient DNA doesn’t tell the whole story of how families and societies worked.

The Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Family Foundation has donated $5.5 million to the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) to help advance groundbreaking scientific research and compassionate, state-of-the-art cancer care in Maryland and across the region.
