Research and prospects of Anoectochilus roxburghii in the field of skin care
Journal of Dermatologic Science and Cosmetic TechnologyThis review highlights Anoectochilus roxburghii as a promising natural skincare ingredient with strong translational potential. Traditionally known as the “King of Medicine” and “Golden Herb,” A. roxburghii contains polysaccharides, flavonoids, and kinsenosides that may support antioxidant defense, anti-inflammatory regulation, skin barrier repair, and brightening effects. The article connects traditional medicinal value with modern cosmetic science, emphasizing topical, skin-relevant mechanisms rather than systemic pharmacological effects. It also discusses product development opportunities, including serums, masks, creams, and soothing formulations, while identifying key challenges such as extract standardization, clinical validation, safety assessment, and scalable industrial application.

Targeting circSFPQ_008/SFPQ/BRCA1 axis for overcoming platinum resistance in ovarian cancer
Higher Education PressPlatinum resistance remains a major obstacle in ovarian cancer treatment. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have emerged as important regulators of cancer progression and drug resistance. This study identified circSFPQ_008 as a key driver of platinum resistance in ovarian cancer through the circSFPQ_008/SFPQ/BRCA1 axis. Targeting this pathway sensitized ovarian cancer cells to platinum chemotherapy, suggesting a promising therapeutic strategy for overcoming drug resistance. These findings provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of platinum resistance and identify potential therapeutic targets for ovarian cancer.

Can one screening strategy find many cancers? Artificial Intelligence is bringing the idea closer
Intelligent MedicineWhat if cancer screening no longer had to look for one cancer at a time? Cancer screening has long followed a one-organ-at-a-time model: mammography for breast cancer, colonoscopy for colorectal cancer, low-dose CT for lung cancer, and cervical testing for cervical cancer. These programs save lives, but they also leave gaps. Many cancers still lack routine screening, while patients often face multiple appointments, tests, and follow-up procedures.

Newly discovered parasite linked to coastal seabird deaths
Texas A&M UniversityAlong the Gulf Coast, black skimmers have long been a familiar sight — gliding just above the water with their bright orange beaks slicing through the surface to feed.
But when more than 160 chicks died in Texas nesting colonies during the summers of 2022 and 2023, researchers uncovered something no one had documented before — a previously unknown parasite that may be part of a much larger conservation challenge.
To investigate the die‑off, researchers from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (VMBS) partnered with the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory and colleagues in the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Greenspace exposure and the incidence of ocular and adnexal diseases: novel findings from a large prospective cohort study
Health Data ScienceAmong 241,576 UK Biobank participants, residential greenspace was associated differently with incident ocular and adnexal disease subtypes. Higher exposure was associated with lower incidence of lens and, borderline, choroid and retina disorders, but associations differed for eyelid, lacrimal system, orbit, and conjunctiva disorders.
The study highlights the importance of outcome-specific environmental-health assessment. It cannot establish that greenspace causes or prevents disease, and mechanisms and generalizability remain to be tested.
